I joined and started my own business in Etsy last August. I tried listing just one item first. which is a printable notepad which sadly up until now in not yet being bought by anybody. It was frustrating but then I thought that it is not really what people would need. So I created another layout for a weekly planner and had my second listing in my shop. On that same day, I am so happy to announce that my second listing, the Printable Weekly Planner, is now sold! I was so happy to see that notification on my email, even though I know it was my sister who bought it and I kind of forced her to buy it. Nonetheless, it felt very rewarding for me.
Well you see, during the first months of this year, 2016, I kind of made a pact with myself. I said that this year I am going to focus on myself, that I am going to do what makes me happy, I am going to build myself, find out who I am and what I want in life. I was determined buuuut, some things happened, some decisions have to be made. Instead of diving into the "real world" and pursuing a career for myself with different companies, I stayed in my comfort zone and decided to stay in our family business, I won't go into details about it but basically I did it because "kailangan eh". Well that's pretty much the reason about everything that I do now. I can't say that my life is entirely miserable but I also can't say that I'm happy where I am now. I just keep living day by day and do the things I do, "kailangan eh". Anyway, long story short, starting my own Etsy shop and creating my products , creating my travel videos, and most recently starting this blog are basically the only things I can think of that I've actually done for myself these nine months of 2016. So forgive me if I am just happy for making my first "forced" sale on my shop, it's all I've got.
This was supposed to be a happy post but one way or another things just always end up a bit uhh not so jolly? Anyway, the only message I want to get through this post is, don't be like me. Yup, don't be like me who is afraid to step out of her comfort zone, always afraid to disappoint other people. Don't be like me who does things only out of need. I encourage you to go and step out of your comfort zone. Do things that you love. Do things for yourself, it's not being selfish. Explore the world and find out who you are. Make a change, make a good change in the world. Dive in have fun, be free. Someday I will be there with you, but for now let me push you to do so.
