I just want to share some of the notes I've written down from Rick Warren's "The Purpose Driven Life: What On Earth Am I Here For?"

Honestly I wasn't planning on writing this post but out of nowhere I had this feeling to get my notebook and somehow when I opened my it, the notes that laid before me is about being a "people-pleaser", more specifically, how to break free from being a people - pleaser, and so here we are.
So how exactly do we break free from being a people-pleaser? Well from my understanding of the chapter, it's simple, all we need to do is to change the way we think or in the Bible's word, repentance.
"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by renewing your mind."
So how do we transform and renew our minds you say? It is through knowing and understanding God's TRUTHS.
Here are six truths to remember so we can break free form being a people - pleaser:
Remember that "Even God can't please everyone" .
It is IMPOSSIBLE to make everyone happy at the same time.
Remember that "I don't need anyone's approval to be happy".
Happiness is a CHOICE.
What other people think of you cannot rob your happiness unless you allow them to rob it.
Remember that "What seems to be so important now is only temporary" .
God says, "The world and everything in it that people desire is passing away; but those who do the will of God live forever".
What seemed so important then is now irrelevant.
People pleasing is short-term thinking.
Remember that "I only have to please one person-- God".
He's opinion is the only one that matters
Remember that "One day, I will give an account of my life to God".
There will be a day of reckoning.
You are going to be asked for an explanation of everything you have done and said.
Live each day towards God and not for earthly, temporary things.
Strengthen your courage to say no to things that you would rather not have to explain to God someday.
Remember that "God shaped me to be me, not somebody else".
Be you, and no else.
Everything about you is made with intent.
You are made for a one of a kind purpose.
And there you have it, the six truths that would help us to transform our way of thinking.
I'm not really sure if anyone would read this, but I guess God wanted to remind me of these things, that's why it randomly came across my mind to open up my notes. Maybe it's also God's way of telling me to break free from being a people-pleaser myself. And so I thought it would be a good idea to share it with others who might be feeling the same way too.
Anyway, I hope that at least one person can read this post and that this can somehow help him/her to break free from being a people-pleaser. Don't worry, you're not alone, there a lot more of us today especially with the kind of society we have.
With that being said, let us hold hands and together, let us break free. Together, let us start walking toward God's path. Together, let us gravitate more on God's will and not on earthly, temporary matters. We can do it! God believes in all of us. That's really cheesy but you get what I mean right? ☺️
Thanks for reading, see yah!
