I did it!

Yeah it took a lot more time than I expected, but the important thing is, I did it. You may be wondering what am I talking about.

Well to tell you the truth, ever since the beginning of last year, 2016, I wanted to create something that I know I will proudly say that "That's mine. I did that." I first thought of making my own planner. Not just the simple kind but the hard-bound type of planner. It will be colorful and personalized and creative and all. I did finish making all the lay-outs for that. The only problem was, I was second guessing myself. I was worried of the actual process of making it, I was worried that there's something that would go wrong, or something that does not fit...so and so. Long story short, it did not make out as a "finished product".

After some time I was starting to think about Christmas. I thought to myself, what if I make something personalized and meaningful and something that I put so much effort on as a gift for my sisters? So from scratch, I started creating lay-outs of journals. For my eldest sister I made a journal with the name of her blog, EatsNCheats, as the title. For my second sister, I wrote "Teacher Jen" to hopefully inspire her and encourage her with her job. And lastly for my third sister, I simply wrote her name "justinerianne" which she was thinking of using as a title or name for her own blog.

The creation of the designs took me about a month or so. But the actual making of the journals took a lot longer time. Th problem was not with the supplies or process of doing them. Surprise surprise, the problem was me. I was second guessing myself, again. Thankfully, I was able to push through and put aside my insecurities and stubbornness. I ended up finishing the journals into actual products. The only thing that made me pursue them was thinking of how much joy it would bring me if I could do something like this to others, especially to my sisters.

The finished products as below if you wanted to see them. They are all pretty simple though, but nonetheless, not bad for my first "kind of huge" project.

My sisters said that I could make money out of it. That's the thing, I think that my family is sometimes too business minded, except for me. Honestly, whenever I start thinking of doing something it's probably because (a) I am bored and just want to create something, and (b) I simply want to give it to someone as a gift or something. Sometimes I feel like the odd one out in our family because of that. I know it's silly but I don't know.

Anyway, when I am ready to be all businesswoman-y take over the world, I'll let you guys know haha.

In every story we expect that there is some lesson that we could get. Well, I don't know what lesson you can get out of this story rather than to stop second guessing and start believing in yourself. You are here for a reason, you are bound to do great things, you just have to believe in yourself.
