Annyeonghaseyo! Dasi osin geos-eul hwan-yeonghabnida!

Well with that greeting, I bet you know what this post is going to be all about.

Before anything else, just a little fun fact, did you know that Korea’s national flower is called Althea? Well its scientific name is Hibiscus Syriacus, which is commonly known as Rose of Sharon. Although it’s called a rose, it’s not really a rose because it belongs to the Malvaceae or "mallow" family. Okay before we get all scientific here, I’m just going straight to my topic now.

I want to share about an online store that I currently love which is Althea.kr. If you haven’t heard of it, which I doubt, it is a great online store that sells authentic Korean beauty products. They have it all, from skin care to make-up to hair and body products, from affordable to high-end products that are available in Korea, they make it accessible to Southeast Asian countries such as Philippines.

There are actually three things I really like about this store.

One, they make Korean beauty products easily accessible to anyone outside the country. This is really great news for anyone who is obsessed with Korean beauty products or actually with Korean beauty. I mean c’mon, Song Hye Kyo, Jun Ji Hyun, Park Shin Hye, Lee Sung Kyung, the list goes on. You get the point right? So before I start fan-girling, let’s move on.

Two, well I’m not sure if it applies to all products but based on my personal experience, they offer most products at a lower price compared to how much they retail in the Philippines. For example, the 92% Aloe Vera Soothing Gel by Nature Republic price ranges from Php 250.00 to Php 280.00 in Philippine stores, whereas in Althea it retails for Php 180.00 only. Like I’ve said, I am not sure about this one, it’s based on my personal experience.

Lastly, they have great customer service. I was able to test their customer service when I accidentally closed the payment page on the app while in checkout. I was at lost on what to do because there is no option on the order page how to make a payment; the status only said “awaiting payment”. So I emailed their customer service regarding my dilemma. With Althea, it only took about less than 12 hours for them to give me a response, and they were really nice and helpful and responsive at the same time, I don’t know about you but that is big thumbs up from me.

The only thing I’m not really a fan of is that it takes quite a while for my orders to get to my doorstep. It takes about 2-3 weeks of shipping before I can get my hands on to the products. Well actually this is understandable, we probably have customs to blame for that soooo moving on…

I recommend anyone who wants to try Korean beauty products to download the app that is available both in the App Store for Apple and the Play Store for Android. It is easy to navigate and useful in monitoring the status of your orders. There’s actually a lot more that we can talk about Althea.kr like their promises, their 30-day return policy, their free shipping, but I guess I’ll let you dig into that on your own (insert wink).

I just placed a new order this week and hopefully it arrives some time next week or probably the week after that. If I don’t get lazy, I might to a little haul post for the few items that I got. For now, that would be all for me, so ‘til next time!
